How many times do we place limits on our love for another person? What if we just love to the fullest—because we can? Usually that is not the case. We often set value to our love. If he or she does this or that, then that will determine how much I love in return.
Experiences from the past have a large impact on how we distribute our love. They often cause us to hold back in fear of hurt, so we protect our hearts and keep our love guarded. Past experiences aren’t meant to be used as a weapon against those who have done us no harm. It is to teach, and bring awareness of decisions made by self and that of others.
When placing barriers on love we restrict and stunt the growth of all possibilities. Since February is considered the month of love, let’s try something different. If you are in a new relationship and holding back because of previous hurt and pain, let it go, and don’t assume the current relationship will as before. Don’t hold your new love as hostage, let go of the old baggage and love the one you’re with. Allow your past experiences to guide into love with no limits.
